Kim Kardashian warns of LA fire scammers

celebrity scam warning.
The Woolsey Fire was a destructive wildfire that burned in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties of the U.S. state of California. The fire ignited on November 8, 2018 and burned 96,949 acres of land. The fire destroyed 1,643 structures, killed three people, and prompted the evacuation of more than 295,000 people.

Kim Kardashian has warned her followers to watch out for fraudsters using her celebrity status to exploit victims of the Los Angeles fires.

The hellish fires, which started on January 7, have now spread across 40,000 acres of LA’s A-list filled neighbourhoods, with courageous firefighters continuing their relentless battle to contain the flames.

A fake fundraiser in the star’s name has been set up, disguised as a campaign organised by the TV personality to raise funds for those affected by the disaster.

Kardashian shared a photo of the fundraising email and wrote: “Beware of scammers.-

‘This is not real, if anyone gets an email like this – how horrible.”

The SKIMS founder owns a property in a luxury gated community near the epicentre of the blaze.

Kardashian and her family were evacuated from their Calabasas and Hidden Hills mansions due to the blaze, but the evacuation orders were later lifted.

Another fraudulent email littered with spelling mistakes – titled “Kim Kardashian Campaigns for Affected People in LA” – was also highlighted on her social media page, with the star exclaiming: “This email is not me!”

The message reads: “This is kim kardashian hope you are doing great, thanks for been a supportive fan.

“I want to bring to our notice about the recent incident in Los Angeles about the fire outbreak, please I want us to play our part by helping those affected.”

“You know I can’t do it alone, that is why I have you all as a fan, family and supporters you can support with any amount.”

Kim has praised the efforts of firefighters by thanking LA County Fire and Los Angeles City Fire for everything they are doing “to save lives, homes and property.”

However, some have accused the star of previous “wasteful” actions, after Kim was fined for using 232,000 gallons of water more than her allowed allocation during droughts in 2022.

Critics argue that this may have wasted vital water resources that could have been used to fight the fires.
