Who Is Moneda Capital PLC?

Moneda Capital is an investment group that claims to specialise in asset-backed investment opportunities that offer fixed returns.

The company advertised widely on social media offering a guaranteed return of 7.25% per annum

It initially claimed that its investments were safe because they were backed by Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

The firm itself claimed: “Moneda Capital PLC is a forward-thinking investment group specialising in fixed rate return opportunities. Our bespoke approach encompasses innovative industries and emerging markets, allowing our clients to build a diversified portfolio underlined by a strong growth strategy.”

However, from September 2025, It became clear that the firm was in trouble and customers were not given any returns.

Serious questions have now been raised about where the money was actually invested.

The firm is now being investigated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

On the company’s website a notice has been posted saying:“Important Information.

“As you may be aware, we are under investigation by the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”). A full asset restraint order took effect on 2 September 2025. At this stage, the FCA does not wish for us to provide any details beyond confirming that an investigation is ongoing. Anyone seeking further information should be directed to the FCA directly at 020 7066 1000 (Case Reference: UB00019).”

On October 16, 2025, The FCA announced that it had started an investigation into Moneda Capital.

The FCA website stated:“We have opened an investigation into the Moneda Capital Group and a number of people associated with its companies. The group includes: Moneda Capital PLC; Moneda Capital Asset Management Ltd; MCAM Ltd ; VSD Capital Ltd”

Some investors sent money to Moneda Capital via Strowz Ltd, which is described as a wealth management firm. Clients were told that Strowz Ltd came under the group’s umbrella. Companies House shows that Moneda Capital had shares in Strowz Ltd. In April, 2025,the FCA imposed restrictions on Strowz Ltd.

The FCA demanded that the firm could no longer: “undertake any regulated activity, accept any further client money or move or facilitate the movement of client assets or client money without our express permission.
